To Achieve 100% Renewable Energy in 2035 and Drive Low-Carbon Transition in Supply Chains
ASUS, the global computer manufacturing company, officially announced to become one of the members of RE100, a global renewable energy initiative, to achieve 100% renewable energy with 300 company members. In April, ASUS officially said that its Taiwan-based operations centers will reach 100% renewable energy in 2030, and for the global operations centers to reach the same goal in 2035. ASUS has demonstrated its commitment to the RE100 goals by being verified by the ISO 50001 Energy Management Certification to realize the self-energy conservation plan in Taiwan headquarters, signing the Power Purchase Agreement, and procuring the Renewable Energy Certificates.
Chairman of ASUS, Jonney Shih, said: “Extreme climates have impacted our environment, further posing challenges to business resiliency. These challenges, however, give us another chance to act innovatively and build a better future. ASUS transforms these challenges into business strategies to grow sustainably and become a competitive business.”
ASUS integrates climate action into the operation strategies and promises to utilize renewable energy in global operation. ASUS also stipulates energy efficiency goals for products and leads low-carbon transition in key suppliers. It is hoped that these acts can decrease carbon emission and foster the overall development of industry and the environment.
